Writer, Researcher, and Educator living in Austin, Texas
Digital accessibility to texts, scholarship, and on-line resources is central to the work I do as a digital humanist. The projects I work on grow out of a desire to make more complicated or lesser-known texts available to students, K-12 educators, and the general public, while also maintaining scholarly rigor and relevance. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to contribute to these projects.
The purpose of this project is to collect information about texts central to pre-modern translation studies. The purpose of this project is to broaden public knowledge about how readers and writers approached and discussed translation, adaptation, and imitation prior to the 1800s. My own background is in European translation out of Latin, particularly in Middle and Early Modern English, but I am committed to creating an international and global representation of texts dealing with pre-modern translation.
This digital edition is the first TEI encoding of the Confessio amantis and is aimed at researcher and budding medievalist alike. As I complete the encoding, I am considering the most efficient and accessible way to present the edition, and I am tagging people, places, and other recurring features for text-mining and deeper analysis.
