About this project:
This site was created and is run by Dr. Caitlin Brenner to collect information about texts central to pre-modern translation studies. The purpose of this project is to broaden public knowledge about how readers and writers approached and discussed translation, adaptation, and imitation prior to the 1800s. My own background is in European translation out of Latin, particularly in Middle and Early Modern English, but I am committed to creating an international and global representation of texts dealing with pre-modern translation.
Please feel free to contact me about this project via Twitter or email. I am open to suggestions about what texts or themes to include, and I would be happy to talk with interested writers about outside contributions or collaboration.
